syesmar Posted April 29, 2015 #26 Share Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) Can anyone confirm who actually itook the 112 which casino? Hi, it is indeed "the" Casino. When I was there last year, the Monte Carlo (Casino) stop was on the street above the Casino Gardens rather than on the level of the building. The Cremaillere stop is close to the Casino stop, as well. Note that unless you are already in the area of the Casino, there are alternative stops. Best to email Monaco tourism & also confirm upon arrival exactly where the stop is. I always get them to put a map in the mail....highlight your desired stops on the map before you arrive. Enjoy your cruise!! Edited April 29, 2015 by syesmar
envy4u Posted April 29, 2015 #27 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Best to take water taxi or elevator up to the casino bus stop to get to Eze?
syesmar Posted April 29, 2015 #28 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Hi, I have never taken the boat, but friends enjoyed it and found it efficient (if you plan on taking more public transportation in Monaco proper, consider the day pass, of which the boat is included). I think the elevator is after you get off the boat. You can also take a local bus (or walk) to that area. Here is a map for the local buses in Monaco: http://www.cam.mc/PLAN_CAM.pdf Note that your bus to Eze is through the regional line, Lignes d'Azur, and their website may still have a bus map, as well. If you're wanting to catch the bus in its first stop, I understand taking it from the Casino (by the way, when I was there last year, there was construction, so be sure to verify the address of that particular stop). However, there are other stops that are closer to the port. Email the local tourism board for the most efficient place to catch your bus (I say this from experience....there have been times I've looked for a particular bus stop while overlooking ones that were closer to where I was, along the route). If you take it from another stop, adjust your times a little in the bus schedule. Be careful when planning for buses that have St or Sainte Devote in its name --- there is a Pont St Devote AND a Place Sainte Devote stop....one is street level to the lower entry of the train station & the other is the upper level. Enjoy your cruise!!
buggins0402 Posted April 29, 2015 #29 Share Posted April 29, 2015 sysemar, my recollection was that the last stop in Monaco for 112 used to be Cremaillere, but now Lignes d'Azur is showing the Casino - correct? Envy4U, if you pick up a copy of Rick Steve's Mediterranean Port Guide book or his Provence/Riviera book, he has a pretty decent map that shows where the Cremaillere stop is and verbal instructions on how to find it. syesmar Posted April 29, 2015 #30 Share Posted April 29, 2015 buggins0402, Yes, that was my experience, as well with Cremaillere. One of the reasons I always encourage people to be aware of other stops stems from when we first took the 112. We missed it by just a few minutes....little did I know at the time I could've caught the same bus at the (upper) St Devote stop in time, as I was very close by....instead I was trying to make it to Cremaillere and barely missed it (we had a plan B & it all worked out, still made it to Eze & also thoroughly enjoyed Monaco....it was such a great day).
