Working 2 Cruise Posted April 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Hello everyone! My husband has trouble walking and I'd love to visit it! Even if I have to leave him at the hotel... Do you have any recommendations, preferably under $300 a night... I was looking at the Warwick hotel, could get it for $220... Thank you!
VibeGuy Posted April 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Almost all the downtown hotels aside from the Four Seasons are going to have pretty similar, mostly-flat walks to the market, (plus/minus six blocks or less) and the waterfront ones can reach it by a flat walk and elevator/skybridge. The Four Seasons is market adjacent. Rates are always high during summer; this summer is particularly bad. Could I make a pitch? Stay someplace where you can easily access either Link Light Rail or the Seattle Center Monorail - either the airport or near Southcenter Mall (most properties in that area are either right by a light rail stop, will drop you at one, or will drop you at the Airport) or the Seattle Center area. You are likely to save a bunch and have about the same walk to the market. Check out Cedarbrook Lodge near the airport. Try the Hyatt Place, Hampton Inn or Four Points near Seattle Center. Northern Aurora Posted April 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2015 We live in the interior of Alaska and so consider Seattle to be "our" city. If the OP decides to book a hotel in downtown Seattle our favorite Seattle hotel is currently the Mayflower Park. Great location with a great staff. mapleleaves Posted April 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) Downtown seattle is quite small .... even if you stay near the Seattle Center/Space Needle, a taxi to downtown would only be about $10-$15 if you don't feel like walking or taking the monorail. Another thought .... our office uses Silver Cloud Lake Union for out of town clients. They provide a free shuttle to a few destinations downtown. (plus a nice b'fast). If your husband doesn't want to go perhaps he could hang out at the lake and watch all the boats, kayaks, float planes. Probably over $300 but 'I stayed at the Inn at the Market last yr for a wedding .... very nice hotel and the views from the rooftop terrace are spectacular. podmon Posted April 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2015 We loved staying at the Moore, one night before and 2 nights after. 2 block walk to Pike Market and not too far of a walk to Westlake center. I'd also recommend using Uber to get around. Even at 4:30 am it only took 3 minutes to get a car to Seatac.
