Excursions

We did a snorkel beach combo in Freeport they took us on a short tour around the island first and we did a little jungle adventure then went to the beach for a snorkel/swim where you also could have a snack. The guide was wonderful he looked and sounded like a native but had recently lived most of his life in Alaska wow don't judge a person by thier looks. The other people in our group just took a taxi and went around on there own. The water and beaches are spectacular but it is odd to think a Beach has no sand but only Coral. All of the sand is placed there (Man Made.)We also went to Nassau and the excursion was Atlantis and a glass bottom boat(not very good). I have always wanted to see it (Atlantis). It is just as beautiful as it looks on TV but I never realized it was a Casino. The entire area around Nassau is a little scarry. There are alot of guys with Mahine Guns, Yachts, money and who knows what. Hope this helps, check out my travel blog www.atouristlife.com Thanks

In Nassau go to the Atlantis! They have the best water park!! Get your tickets from the casino floor at the Atlantis...much cheaper!!! Also, spend the money and put your valuables in a locker while on the water rides... The locals are shady, I have been there 4 times and have seen shady stuff!

If you can bring sandwiches from the ship, I would do that... The food there is very expensive.

There not a whole lot of good reviews on Freeport from carnival! There is a new app called Shore Fox that's has a bunch of stuff to do. Was looking at the powerboat beach party. Had a lot of fun stuff and a good lobster lunch included but was worried what it would be like when we got there!

HMC, walk down the beach past all the crowds to get to local beach bars, inc. Jack's Shack

Nassau - bus or taxi to Cable Beach

Freeport - never visited

Jacks shack is not at half moon cay. It's in grand turk.

You can't bring most food off of the ship. It's illegal.

You are only allowed prepackaged items like granola bars, chips etc. In the manufacturers sealed packages. No sandwiches, muffins, fruit etc. This is the same for most foreign ports.

I don't think it's illegal, most of the other discussions suggest taking sandwiches

It's Illegal in the bahamas as well as most countries (including the USA).

Travelers should know (and adhere to) all customs and immigration laws when traveling to other countries. Even if it's just a cruise stop.

LOL...always a great big pile of food that was confiscated from people disembarking after the numerous warnings over the PA.

We will be on the Valor with you. Going for relaxing this trip so we are going to the Hilton in Nassau, finding a piece of beach at HMC and maybe just looking for a place to eat in Freeport if we decide to get off the ship. I did do a lot of research on a snorkel trip with Pat and Diane's in Freeport that has gotten great reviews.

We do excursions in Nassau- away from the pier. We enjoy going to Cable Beach (by van cab) and spending the day at a resort- the Melia.

In Freeport, we took a van cab to Our Lucaya and went to what is now the Grand Lucayan. They have a good website.
