Grandeur Atrium Show

Recommended Posts

I have been on the Grandeur for several cruises since the start of the shows in the Atrium. The main problem is that the Atrium does not provide a lot of viewing area. This problem is made worse by people who stay for both shows thus blocking other passengers from seeing the shows. The best places to watch the shows are on decks 6 and 7.

On several cruises the shows have been cancelled due to rough sea conditions.

It is a good show to see...but unless they change it there will be no reason to attempt to view it any additional times.

Any update on aerial show on Grandeur or eta on start-up date. We're cruising on June 5...

Thanks!

Mike

We were on the Grandeur this past November....The seas were rough, but they finally found a time to do the aerial show. WOW - breath taking! You are not limited to the atrium for the show. I found this out quite by accident. Any one of the open areas that look down on the atrium will provide you a good view. I happen to be passing by when they were setting up for the show. I was on the deck where they "launched" from. It was amazing. Their faces said it all . . . It was still a new show and they are feeling it out. Nerves were running high - maybe due to the sea conditions. Well worth seeing!!!! I think I held my breath the whole time.

Thanks, we've heard it was down needing repairs or some thing:confused:

Wondering, if and when, it'll be back up and flying?;)

The Centrum shows have been suspended on all of the RC ships. We were on Serenade in March and looking forward to seeing the show again (saw it last year) but were told that because of an apparent safety concern all the aerial shows in the Centrum are a no go until the safety issues are addressed.

Sailing a smaller, older ship like Grandeur, this was one of the few unique entertainment venues to look forward to. She has nowhere near the bells & whistles the larger (excluding the Mega ships)of other classes. I don't imagine they will replace that "show's" times slot with something else. We're so disappointed. I understand the safety issue but I've read reviews where the Vegas Style shows on GotS are old & not very good. I guess there's always the casino.

I can certainly understand why they discontinued those shows in the Centrum. The seas, being what they are, are so unpredictable, safety would always be an issue. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I saw the show in November - They struggled to find a good time to perform as the weather was very (VERY) choppy. You could see apprehension and uncertainty all over the performer's faces.

We enjoyed all the shows in the theater and didn't find them "old" at all. However, some of the performers/comedians were quite possibly older than us ( I think one comedian hinted at being in his 70's) . . . but then again, when I looked around, the crowd for that cruise was probably average age of 60 . . . So they were playing to the right crowd! :D

We have not been on as many cruises as a lot of ppl on the forum . . . I imagine that after a while shows and routines begin to repeat themselves, don't they? We have already seen some of the same performers on different ships . . .

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ALL THE SEASONED CRUISERS . . . YOU FOLKS WHO HAVE BEEN ON 15,20, 30 CRUISES . . . WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK?

Not true on Splendour TA at the beginning of the month. A new team got on in Salvadore and although one show was cancelled due to rough weather we had shows on the last 2 nights of the cruise and they were very good.

Just left the GOS today 6/12. The aerial show is back, it was on the last night.

Just as good if not better is their practice sessions. We saw 3 of them, usually around 12/1PM.

Being on a higher deck is better than below. I would try 7/8.

Great ship and a great trip.
