Fantasy and ecstasy to switch

I saw that the Carnival fantasy is moving to Miami to replace the ecstasy and the Carnival ecstasy is taking her place in South Carolina.

 

What is the reasoning for this, the ships are almost identical correct?

From the looks of it Carnival Ecstasy has more Evolutions of Fun upgrades then the Carnival Fantasy, mainly more balconies.

Carnival also likes to switch the ships around so people can try different ships. I'm happy that the Fantasy is going to Miami because she is the last of the Fantasy class ships I need to sail on and it will be easier to go to Miami than Charleston.

Switching can (and am guessing will) encourage people who have already done Fantasy out of Charleston to now book Ecstasy. There are a lot of folks who live within a few hours of here that have sailed Fantasy numerous times who I am sure are happy to be getting a different ship, even if it is very similar.

People get tired of sailing the same ship. They need to switch ships so people can sail different ships.

It also seems the switch will bring some different destinations as well. I see they are adding a 7 day to Bermuda, which may be my next booking. :D
