Has anyone upgraded from a Casino offer?

I booked a great cruise on the Sunshine a couple months back thru a casino offer. They gave me an ocean view cabin. I called to see if I could move to a balcony for a price but they told me the casino offer is expired and for me to do something they would have to cancel my current reservation and then see if they can do me a new one. I said no thanks I will keep what I have. Would it do me any good to ask when I check in on the day of the cruise or does anyone have any other suggestion I might try?

I agree, I wouldn't wait until you get there because the cabins are probably already sold at that point.

I would call and talk to someone else.

Last year I got a free cruise from the casino, it was for an inside cabin. When I called to book it, I upgraded to a balcony and only paid the difference in price (I think it was around $450 for 2 of us?) Well worth it to us!!

Call back, I have upgraded twice with a casino offer. Both times have been after I booked originally. One was for $80 each balcony on level 8 other was lido balcony $150 each.

Depends on what casino offer....I had a premier offer, booked and shortly thereafter an aft balcony came up......I wanted to upgrade to that so called, credit card in hand, willing to pay the costs involved. They aid compacity controlled so now closed......I explained but I'm already on the ship, so its not an extra booking, just a change and more money for Carnival....after several managers and hours on the phone, it could not be done as they take the booking code out of the system once the offer is filled.....crazy I know, but in order to book it I would have lost all my priemier cruise benefits, including the cash.

We had casino discounts for one of our cruises with $200 OBC, but got a better deal from another current sale online combined with past cruiser rates. Our PVP suggested we still try and use the credit in the casino once we got on the ship. We got it so that gave us both price cuts on the same cruise. :D

We have upgraded our casino offers but it was before the "book by" date listed on the offer. Never bothered to try upgrading after that. I doubt you would get an upgrade at the pier, that doesn't seem to be common practice anymore.

I booked an ocean view room just to get on the sailing I wanted. I normally always get balcony. I called to upgrade and they said the promotion had expired and I'd have to cancel and re-book. I called back and talked to someone else the next day and asked again. They said I could not even PAY the difference to upgrade since the offer I got had ended. Basically I'm stuck with my cabin which is a lesson learned going forward. The lady on the phone told me to ask when I check in because we have a cabin that can connect which someone may want or need to switch with and that while it's not common, it can happen so it doesn't hurt to ask.

That said, I'm 100% grateful that I booked a balcony pack and play offer to Alaska in July rather than jumping on the interior deal which was the only thing available the day before I found the balcony. It changes daily what's available on those pack and play offers.

My advice would be to book what you want from the get go OR at least call before the promotion date ends. Otherwise no amount of money will get you an upgrade.

We upgraded later off of a casino offer to a casino offer.

Keep checking off their site, by the category you want to upgrade to. It worked for us, it may have just been crazy good luck.

We upgraded a bounce back offer from interior to balcony for $240 each. I was told it it has to do with the length of the cruise and of course the room as to how much the upgrade is.
