MrsPhoenix91 Posted May 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Yesterday after submitting our first Price Protection form on our first cruise ever on the Ecstasy (3 days, Nassau), we were approved! We now have $209.14 in non-refundable OBC. Our gratuities have been pre-paid. We do not gamble and we do not drink alcohol. My husband isn't much of a shopper, but my daughter and I are :D, so any ideas on what to spend this OBC on?
EmmasNana Posted May 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2015 If this is due to an early saver price drop, the OBC should be refundable.
MrsPhoenix91 Posted May 12, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2015 If this is due to an early saver price drop, the OBC should be refundable. Thank you. Yes, we have the Early Saver rate (and the cruise was paid off in March). The PPF read that the OBC would be non-refundable.

EmmasNana Posted May 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Did you check your invoice? Unless this has changed fairly recently, it should be refundable.

love my grandkids Posted May 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2015 If all else fails remove the prepaid tips so you could use obc to take care of them.

jiggs Posted May 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Feet of Gold by the Inch!!!! Cash it out in the casino and put it all on Red and see if you can make it $400. $200 won't last long if you buy a couple of pictures and take a cruise through the fun shops... Legend Posted May 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted May 12, 2015 What should I do once I find a lower rate? Complete a price protection claim form. If the request meets the price protection requirements, we will process the fare difference and send you an email confirmation within 2 business days of your request. · If the booking is not paid in full – the cruise fare will be re-priced. · If the booking is paid in full – the difference of fare will be issued as a non-refundable gross on board credit. Thank you, Legend. This is what I read - I'm fine with non-refundable OBC. I wasn't counting on getting anything - just happy to have an ES suite! snowskier Posted May 12, 2015 #14 Share Posted May 12, 2015 I agree with taking the prepaid tips off. Have the tips added to your on board account and use the OBC to pay them. You are still tipping the same amount, just paying them when you sail rather than before you sail.

sandij Posted May 12, 2015 #19 Share Posted May 12, 2015 They make it easy to spend money on a cruise ship, shopping would be my first item, heck you could start holiday shopping and put it away until needed. They have great prices on perfume and souvenirs.

RuthlessBoss Posted May 12, 2015 #24 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Steak house on Ecstasy? I didn't think there was one. But you might be able to order a steakhouse selection in the DR for $20 each.
Isa65 Posted May 12, 2015 #25 Share Posted May 12, 2015 $209 OBC for 3 people really isn't that much to spend. You will go through it before you know it.
