It won't be mailed, it will come via UPS and a signature is required. My last one took more than 10 days. The $100 cards are mailed, even if you buy five, and arrive more quickly. I doubt your card will get there in time, but you can use it for OBC.

I had been buying the $500 card, but now don't need one that high at the moment. I did go in my Verizon and my husbands AARP and bought $100 card off of each one. I miss though the emailed card. I certainly hope they don't require a signature for the $100 card like they do the $500. In the end the hassle of hunting down picking up the package isn't worth the savings on the smaller card. I just paid off my January cruise with the $500 cards, now I did a couple more to put towards the gratuity.

Just nabbed one $500 GC.

Question, about how long before I receive it in the mail?

My final payment is due 11/16/2015...might it get here before then?

They will most likely email you to confirm the order and they could take forever to do that. They took over a week after my dad ordered one to confirm. I would call them immediately and get the jump on confirming the order. I thought it really strange if you log into your account, ship to your address and use your credit card why they feel the need to confirm that you indeed placed the order.

That's tight. I personally never order any that I need within 30 days. Now the $500 card will come UPS and must be signed for. Whether regular mail or snail mail, it's about a week with no hiccups.

You might want to keep an eye on the order and see when it ships. It's usually 2-3 days later that you'll get it. You can arrange to pick it up if you're not around to sign for it. You can also call Carnival and ask for an extension of a few days if you really need it for final payment. Better safe than sorry.

Not doubting you, but they only charged me .59 cents for shipping...I assumed that was US Postal rate not UPS?

Only the $500 cards are mailed UPS.

Got my order confirmation email already, pretty much immediately. Just waiting for shipping confirmation.

In October, made four separate gift card purchases through AARP rewards for goods. Three times I bought five $100 cards and once I purchased a single $500 card. They averaged 7 days for delivery all via united parcel service and a signature was required each time.

Go to a kiosk and cash out or go to guest services and cash out. Yes you can go to the casino and do that whole exercise but cashing out one of two ways I listed is easiest. I used nothing but gift cards and obc back in August and cashed out at the kiosk the night before we got off.

Search the forum. A million threads about these gift cards that are very helpful.

Wow, did not know one can do this, thanks! :D

I'm AARP. I found Norwegian on there, but not Carnival. Any tips?

What you found is the AARP Travel Service that is included in Member Benefits.

You want to access the "Rewards for Good" site. When you bring up your AARP home page (http://www.aarp.org/) there will be a clickable link just to the left of the "Login" link that says "Rewards for Good". Click on that link and it will take you to the rewards page. If you haven't logged in to the AARP site yet, you will have to log in and then you can go to either the "Earn Points" or "Redeem Points".

When you have earned enough points, you can go to the "Redeem Points" link and use them. Once there, you will see a grey bar near the top of the page. Put your pointer over the "gift cards" link and a drop down will appear. Included in the drop down list is "Travel", click on "Travel" and the page with the travel gift cards will load.

If you have never registered for AARP using your membership number, do that first so you will earn the maximum points. If you are not a member, just register without a member number and follow the same links. The reason you want to register with your member number is that members earn 50% more points than non-AARP members.

Both denominations of cards were still available at the time of this post, Good Luck!

They sell them for 10% off and yes you can use them for the Cheers package.

Interesting. Thank you. Im sure they will be gone before I would purchase this week but it would be good since I need three beverage packages.

Thanks.
