Currency question for southern itinerary

Has anybody had any trouble using U.S. currency in the southern Caribbean ports? We are going to St. Croix, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados and Antigua in September. Also, if we have to exchange currency, can we do so onaboard the ship?

We've had no problems using US Dollars in the ports you mention.

 

By the way, St. Croix is the US.

We have been to most of the Caribbean islands. They gladly accept US Dollars at every one.

Same here. No problems using US currency. Have a great cruise!

No problem using US dollars in the Caribbean. Would suggest you use small bills otherwise you may receive change in local currency.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm going to try to bring a lot of singles and smaller bills.

Good point. In fact, before we make a cash purchase, I ask if they will give me US change.

You can get your large bills exchanged for small bills at customer service. ;)
