Quick OBC question - given as a gift

If you are given OBC as a gift (someone purchased it for you, not travel agent credit), is it refundable to your credit card at the end of the cruise?

My brother wants to give our parents some to surprise them, but they already have a good amount from the 123 go sale. I know that is credit is non refundable. I assume the purchased credit would go back to their credit card if not used by the end of the cruise, but I wanted to double check.

We bought some for our TA, because of the exchange rate was very good

The amount left over was returned credit back to our CC with in a week of the cruise ending
