Laney219 Posted May 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I noticed a decrease in the taxes and port fees for my July sailing.. not significant, but every bit helps. Will I receive the discount price automatically or do I call? Did not make final payment yet if that makes a difference. TIA
Clarea Posted May 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2015 In the past, we have received a credit on our onboard account when there was a reduction in taxes.

uksimonusa Posted May 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2015 If the total price of your booking, including taxes and fees, has dropped, then call and have it adjusted, the t&f may rise later, if it is just the t&f that have dropped and the cruise price has gone up then wait, as Bob said, you will normally be refunded and difference between the T&F you paid, and the prevailing rate on sail day, as OBC

I kind of fell in the middle... rate remained the same, only the taxes and fees went down. Took a chance and called. They said there is nothing they can do unless the base price changes. I asked about receiving the difference as OBC (as I have read here MANY times before). Was told they never do that!?! Like I said, it is not a lot of money.... but still some! marci22 Posted May 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2015 (edited) We received an adjustment on our account during the sailing. It was like $1.46 per person. Around Day 3. The taxes and fees varied over the past year on our date; at one point they were 176, then 167. I think we booked at 167. If the T&F, on the day of sailing, are less that you paid, you will get the difference as an obc, T&F are not something that the cruiseline charges, they are charges that they incur and are passed on to the cruiser, they cannot charge more than they are charged, they was a ruling from the Florida AG about that a few years back
