dmen131 Posted April 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2004 How does PC dining work for breakfast and lunch? Also does the main dining room serve both? I was on the Grand Princess last summer and if they were being served, they tried to keep it a secret. No times posted, no mention of it in the daily bulletin. It wasn't a big deal then because we were in the Caribbean and with a big group that liked to be casual. However, am considering Princess for Alaska and think nice sit down lunches may be something of interest.
Rare geoherb Posted April 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2004 One of the PC dining rooms will be open for breakfast and lunch. The traditional dining room isn't usually open. If the times are not listed in the Patters, they will be in the info notebook in your cabin. And, as a last resort, you could go down to find out. We ate almost all of our breakfasts and lunches in the dining room on our most recent cruise (Grand in December). When we were in Alaska, we liked eating breakfast in the Horizon Court but lunch in the dining room. You just show up when the dining room is open and let the maitre d' know if you'd like a table for just your party or if you'd like to eat with others. After the first morning, Vincenzo knew we liked to eat with others and stopped asking. We also liked that the menu for the next meal would be posted outside the dining room. We liked to plan what wine to bring to dinner.
cdnguy Posted April 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2004 Just be aware that breakfast and lunch in the dining room can be slower. We don't usually eat there for those meals since there are other things we'd rather be doing, pool time etc. Island Princess - Hawaii, Nov.5/
