maximus217 Posted June 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2015 We noticed that the Giant Causeway Tour is being offered in Londonderry (Greencastle) and in Belfast. Can someone tell us which port is better to see the Giant Causeway? Thanks.
4774Papa Posted June 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2015 We did a tour with Odyssey from Belfast that included the Giant's Causeway and the Rope Bridge. Great tour/
dsrdsrdsr Posted June 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2015 Londonderry is closer, but on the other hand going from Belfast presumably gives you the Northern Ireland coast road which is a very scenic ride. It might also depend what else the tour has planned - for example, the Carrickrede rope bridge might be covered from the Belfast trip and not the Londonderry trip because it's east of the Giant's Causeway. (Or it might not be covered, or it might be on both.)
The Shutterbug Posted June 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2015 I would definitely check the actual tour for both ports are the same. Greencastle is closer but check if they go via the small car ferry to Magilligan or via Londonderry, as that will add time onto the journey to get to the Causeway. Also check if the tour from Belfast takes you along the coast road or motorway to the north coast, I see a lot of coaches on the motorway on days ships are docked in Belfast.
