Middle name not on Royal Carribean reservation

Our middle names are not on our Royal Carribean cruise reservation (we booked through Expedia and there was no field to put middle name). However, the middle names do appear on the passport.

Will this cause an issue with getting on the ship? I searched other threads but they were back in 2011. Making sure things haven't changed.

Thanks for your help.

Should be no problem. At some point, if you have not already done so, you will provide your passport details to the cruise line. But onboard, you will be identified by your first and last names.

I go by my first name and a shortened version of my middle name. plus my last name in everyday life. My passport shows first name, full middle name, and last name. But on a ship my name is only shown using first and last.

I have not cruised RCL but my middle name appears on my passport and not on my cruise reservation. I have cruised with carnival and princess and that has been the case. I wouldn't worry about that. I doubt they think twice about that. The main thing is, first/last name matches and so does your picture on your passport.

There's only one group of people who can give you a definitive answer, and they all work for Royal Caribbean. Ring them. That's what I did when I had the same query re. an American Airlines flight, and it was OK for me; it probably will be for you. But I can't promise.

Do not always expect perfectly correct answers from any cruise line telephone rep. There are some that are very good and well trained. There are others that are hardly trained, with little experience and their information is not always dependable. Most who have cruised very long have learned to not bet the farm on cruise line reps. Hard to know which are the very well informed ones. Call three reps and see what they say.

I am always very careful my name exactly matches my passport for air tickets and cruise ships.
