pattyatsea Posted June 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2015 My husband sleeps with a c-pap machine. Does anyone know if distilled water is available on the Island Princess? Or do we have to bring our own?
scott4020 Posted June 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2015 The stewards are very familiar with this need, just ask and they will provide.

nicklesmama Posted June 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) My husband and I have machines. We went online under our cruise personalizer and checked "Medical and Dietary Requests". There is a place to order distiller water. We wanted to make sure they knew about it ahead of time. The water comes from the medical department.

Colo Cruiser Posted June 7, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Just because you can enter it does not mean that it will show up. We have had to ask for (FIL) every time even though it was requested through the personalizer.
JF - retired RRT Posted June 7, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2015 You can also just use tap water. For a short trip, distilled is not necessary. Distilled is used to keep the humidifier from getting a mineral build-up. If you do get some "crust", simply give the chamber a good soak with a 1:3 or 1:4 vinegar:water solution.:D

Kamloops50 Posted June 7, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Bottled water can be used instead of distilled. For years we used distilled water for our huge stationary batteries. Then we figured out that Reverse Osmosis water is the same as distilled water. We also checked with a number of battery manufacturers about this. Northender Posted June 7, 2015 #14 Share Posted June 7, 2015 The distilled water was in our cabin upon arrival this past cruise. We did check it on the Personalizer and received an email confirming that it was ordered. No charge. :) We had a 15 day cruise and one bottle sufficed.:)
