Need advice for Southern Caribbean Cruise

Recommended Posts

In the next year or so we are looking at going on a cruise with our twins, they will be 3 years old. We have already been on a few cruises & cruise lines. I was wondering which Southern Caribbean cruises people recommended. We have already done a western Caribbean and eastern so we are some what set on wanting to do Southern. I would like one that hits both St Lucia and Dominica if possible, unless there are more desirable stops we are open for advice :) Also since we have 3 year olds we would like a cruise line that has a daycare or provides some sort of place we can drop the kids off for a few hours. Currently we were looking at NCL's 7-Southern Caribbean from San Juan, Royal Caribbean's 7 nights Southern Carribean & Royal Caribbean's 9 night Souther Caribbean cruise. Let me know your advice! Thanks :)

So far we are looking at Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas & Adventure of the Seas & Norwegians Norwegian Gem. We just went on the NCL 7 Hawaii cruise and the daycare they had on there seemed limited and the kids had to be over 3. They had an option to pay for a sitter but that gets expensive. I wanted to make sure that if we decide to not take the kids off the ship at one of the stops they offered a daycare either for free or at a reasonable price. I think when I looked into the daycare on our last one it closed early in the evening as well. Seemed like it closed early like they were afraid parents would dump their kids off all day and they wanted to prevent that.

Both NCL and RCI offer free kids clubs for kids over 3 up till 10pm. After 10pm, you pay an hourly fee. On sea days, the clubs are normally open from 9-noon, 2-5, and 7-10pm for free, and on port days, the kids club is usually open about 30 minutes before first excursion till 30 minutes after last excursion. On RCI, they take kids to buffet for lunch on port days.m

Between your two RCI options...go with Adventure...better kid's club and much more to do than on Jewel.

Yes. I was thinking same thing, although Jewel does have Adventure Beach which might be fun for the little ones (assuming they are potty trained). Although Adventure has that too, right?
