No, John Heald has stated that the Maitre D's aren't expected to return emails from customers as those emails should not have been made public. So you might get lucky and get one that will reply, and you might get one that won't. However, the requests are usually honored, but you won't know until you get onboard.

Thanks Travis. We are going to send in a first request for the MDR. We shall see. Will let you know about HAL. Everything has been great so far but usually/mostly Carnival is too. This trip is my BFF,her DD and my GD. So excited.

I always send an email about a week from embarkation. I never receive a reply, but we always get what we requested. So yes, it does work.

Past two cruises received no reply but my request was granted (I'm Platinum and have always gotten what I've requested for dining time and table size).

Love this list and have used it on the last 3 cruises we have taken. We got the table we wanted and there was never a response.

No I haven't. I don't bother the maitre'd. However you can see by reading this page that several have not gotten replies but gotten there requests. Over the past couple of years, there have been many posts of people complaining about not getting replies from the maitre'ds. I was just informing the OP, that they might not get a reply.
