Diamond questions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wondering what the Diamond lounge is like on the Quantum class - just booked Ovation out of Sydney & wondering if they do anything different on the newest Royal ships?

Second question, on the Australian/NZ board a fellow Diamond cruiser was denied priority tender on Legend after having been given it on other cruises.

Anyone experienced this before?

I can only relate my experience on Quantum last Feb out of New Jersey. On night one we tried to get into the Diamond Lounge. We had friends in there, and by the time my wife and I got there, we could barely get in the door. She stayed outside and I squeezed in just to let our friends know we'd meet them in the theater. We are D+ and from that point on, we went exclusively to the Concierge Lounge, very nice.

But, I must say that we tried to go to the lounge early as we had a 6pm show. It was night one, and that likely accounted for the crowd. Plus there were a lot of Diamond cruisers on board. So not sure our experience was the norm. But to my knowledge they don't "do anything different."

Thanks for the replies.

I doubt we will have the overfull lounge issues for a while as here in Australia there are a lot less Diamonds & above, since RCCL have only been sailing out of here for a short time compared to the US.

I was also thinking the same, but have never sailed out of Australia. I intend to rectify that when I retire next year. Definitely a "bucket list" item. :)
