My recommendation would either be Abe & Louies or Capital Grill.

Take a right coming out of your hotel and walk about two blocks, The former is on the right on the same side of the street. If you walk about another block and half the latter will be across the street at the end of the Hynes Convention Center.

Both excellent steak houses and I would feel comfortable being solo.

Capital Grille is a chain, so I wouldn't recommend that as you can go there elsewhere.

Towne is a popular new place not far from you, also Back Bay Social Club has a great vibe. L'Espalier is good French, Stephanies, if you want to eat outside (a bit overpriced, though). Sorellina for very good Italian. Mistral isn't too far away, and is one of my favorite pricey places to go in Boston.
