This particular batch went on sale last night about 8 west coast time. Unusual in that they usually go on sale very early in the morning. I was surprised at how long they lasted. I like that us West Coasters had a chance to get them. :p

the aarp ones were active all last evening. I got 2 $500 (to pay towards cruise) and 2 $100. (for onboard)

 

They seem to come open once a week for both Verizon and aarp.

Unfortunately if you want to be able to buy these cards, you have to check all of the time.

 

I saw the AARP cards on sale last night around 11pm EST. Then they were on sale this morning for several hours. Additionally, the Verizon cards were available this morning for a few hours. And both sites had them available yesterday. So over the past two days, there's been ample opportunity to buy them.

 

I myself don't wait to see it announced here. It's nice that people do that, but you can bet it's after they've already gotten their own (and rightly so). And who knows who else has seen them on sale by then?

 

Just keep checking. The Verizon app works great on your smartphone. Half my purchases I've done using my smartphone. The AARP app doesn't give a way to get to the rewards program, so for those you'll have to be on a tablet, laptop, desktop.
