Turtles or Rum Point with Carnival?

I am starting to look at excursions for Grand Cayman. I will be there in October on the Carnival Triumph. We will be the only ship in port.

I'm debating between "Rum Point beach escape" and "Turtle and wildlife adventure with lunch". I have been to stingray city on a previous cruise.

I sail solo, so I usually stick with ship excursions.

Any opinions from those of you that have done these Carnival excursions?

I have never done either of those excursions, but have been to Rum Point Beach many times before.

It is gorgeous and one of my favorite beaches! There is much more shade than on Seven Mile Beach. Also, you don't have to pay extra for recliners and chairs.

We visited the turtle farm while staying on GCM and found it to be less interesting than we had hoped but that is just our opinion. You can see YouTube videos and see if it looks like something you'd enjoy.

Agree with CocoCandy, we would choose the Rum Point excursion - a nice beach away from the crowds on SMB and we love the grouper BLT and famous mudslide at the Wreck Bar & Grill. Water sport and snorkel rentals are available along with shaded tables and changing rooms and they have a great staff.

I think you will love RP.
