Ft. Lauderdale Hotel?

I am running into the HIGH prices also. We drive down the night before (2/28/2016) and then use Park-N-Go for the car, so we don't need a shuttle. Park-N-Go is great, $7 a night for pre paid and super service over to the ship and for pick up as well.

I have looked and looked at hotels all the way up to West Palm Beach, high winter rates, some almost double what summer rates are. We don't mind staying out near Sawgrass, Plantation, etc. but all are out of sight. Don't know what to do, any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you considered Guest Houses instead of Hotels. Have a look on Trip Adviser. Could have a solution to your problem. :D

Not that I didn't trust you, but I looked up the rates for your weekend. They're through the roof! I wonder if there's anything special going on that weekend. The hotel rates are a good 25%-45% higher than normal. I'd wait. I can't imagine that they'll go up.

I think you are right POA1... I made a cancelable back up Dessie and will keep watching for better rates!

We stayed at the Fairfield inn in Dania Beach last Feb and will repeat this year. We drive from CT for a 21 day cruise and get free shuttle back and forth, breakfast and free on site parking. They even had a shuttle in the evening to take you to the shopping center that has many restaurants to go for dinner and will bring you back. Might seem a little pricey but when it all adds up, it's worth it for all the conveniences.

There are several very good hotels in the Dania Beach area and we have stayed at a number of them and usually got a bargain price using Priceline. Hyatt Place, Hyatt House and Springfield Inn and Suites all offer complimentary breakfasts, shuttles from the airport (there is a reasonable fee for the shuttle to the pier) and free parking. Several restaurants and a shopping mall are nearby and the Hard Rock Casino is just up the road a bit.

The Renaissance on 17th street is our favorite hotel in the area. Right across from the entrance to the port. From the upper floors, you can see the ships in the port. There are several good restaurants near by (Bimini Boat Yard and Bravo (an Italian restaurant)) as well as a Walgreen's (for all those things you forget). The staff as always been great to us and the rooms are nicely done and the beds are VERY comfortable. They can arrange for a shuttle van to the port and its usually $6 per person.

Now if you are more of a party person, they are opening a Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville Resort down below the port in Hollywood FL. It would be about a 20 min ride or so to the port is my guess.

Hotel is finally settled the Doubletree in Sawgrass. I went on Priceline and named my price $109 (was $229 on Priceline site) and I got it for $109 + tax. It is rated 8.5 out of 10 on trip advisor and 4 stars. All the reviews are good.

We don't need shopping, beach, etc., we drive our own car and just want a nice, clean hotel with a restaurant. I think we will be very happy. It is not far off the 595 direct to the Park-N-Go and port. We have breakfast and are usually at port around 11 - 11:30am. Last cruise we were at Sheraton in Plantation and it was really nice but this time their price was really high. Priceline seems to do a good job in getting good prices, this is the second time I have used them and we have been very satisfied.
