Did you like the Chilkoot company? I was thinking of booking with them.

I thought they were good, we had a very small group so the bus ride back into Skagway the driver made extra stops for photos...He was good.

Only complaint was you don't get on the train right at the pier, you are driven a short distance via the mini bus. They escorted us on the train and we were told we could only sit in the first two seats on each side of the train. Those were reserved for Chilkoot. With mom being older we were on last and had to sit on the right side of the train which you don't see much on the trip up, you're always looking out the opposite window.

Lou and Deb....your pictures are awesome:):D....I sailed her in May and

thanks for bringing me back again;)

One thing...you mentioned early on about being annoyed about

being carded when you had dinner in Seattle.....(for your drinks).......

There are MANY, MANY restaurants here in the states that ask

for ID, no matter how old you are.......it is just SOP these days....

(standard operating procedure).

Usually it's because they were caught selling to a minor. To avoid being caught again and having their liquor license suspended, they card everyone no matter how old you look. World Market stores cards everyone as well. As someone that came from the liquor industry you do not want to lose or have your liquor license suspended. Carding everyone keeps you clean.

Wow, you should get a cut of Celebrity's earnings! We were trying to decide between the Solstice, Princess Ruby and a Royal Caribbean ship. No question, we are doing the Solstice thanks to your review. We really appreciate all the time you took, taking the pictures, sorting and loading them. :)

Great review!! For some reason there just aren't many reviews like this on the Celebrity boards. Although this is a couple years old, from a different ship and slightly different itinerary, it was super exciting and informative to read prior to our Alaska Hubbard Glacier cruise out of Vancouver on the Infinity. I believe most menu items are still the same, so the food pictures help me immensely. I've only sailed Celebrity once and that was over three years ago, so it is helpful to have some visuals when deciding on what to order. I also loved the captions and plan to do the same to my pictures in five weeks! I am sure this took many hours to put together so I just wanted to send a quick shout out as thanks to let you know the hard work is still being appreciated by planners. The attention to detail with all the dailies and menus being posted is great. Again, I know there are changes each year, but it still gives a great idea of what to expect. I really hope I am able to keep up with all the photos on my trip and follow through with posting them as well for others. Our sailing being the second week in June is still early enough that any info I can post after our trip would be helpful for those sailing the rest of the Alaska season.
