pilotboy1985 Posted July 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2015 hi everyone , I've recently started playing blackjack at my local casino every once in a while. I've been on several RCCL cruises but never paid attention to the blackjack tables. I'm sailing on the Jewel and was wondering How many blackjack tables are there? What is the minimum bet? Thanks. 70SS350 Posted July 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Should be between 4 to 6 tables from $5,10,15,25 minimums. Maybe even $50/100. Enjoy your cruise!
DHADEN Posted July 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Actually, on the Jewel, there are 3 BlackJack tables. One is a Single-Deck - min. bet is usually $10. Another is where you can make a side $1 bet (can't remember what for) - min. bet is usually $6. And then the other one for when it gets real busy - min. bet sometimes is $10 and sometimes $5. The other tables are Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride, etc. Hope This Helps. Edited July 10, 2015 by DHADEN

cb at sea Posted July 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Not insurance....it's a "side" bet...like you'll match the dealer, or get a higher/lower card than someone.....it's a sucker bet.
BekkaW Posted July 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Not insurance....it's a "side" bet...like you'll match the dealer, or get a higher/lower card than someone.....it's a sucker bet. The side bet on RCI is usually 'lucky ladies' - you're trying to get a pair of queens. Frustrating to many Australian players who are used to 'perfect pairs'.On a $6 minimum table you can play $5 main bet and $1 side bet Edited July 10, 2015 by BekkaW
pilotboy1985 Posted July 10, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Good to know! I play the $5 table at my casino and would like to stick to that as I'm still a beginner. At my casino we have a side bet as well that ca. Pay anywhere from 4:1 up to 1000:1 depending on what your first two cards are. Anyone have experience with single card black jack? Is it better than the 6 decks I'm used to?
scorpluvsdolphins Posted July 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2015 It's 8 decks. The first night of the cruise the minimum that is usually $10. If they don't have tons of people in the casino the second night to drop it down to the six dollar bet. The one dollar sucker bet is for getting your first two cards to be 20. I actually got the two queen of hearts which is 125 to 1. I had put three dollars on the sucker bet. If the dealer would've had a blackjack at the same time I would've made $3000. Good Luck in the casino!
starfish216 Posted July 10, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 10, 2015 I have been on cruises that the cards after each round get reshuffled into the automatic shuffler…..so forget about trying to count cards.
Deatsch Posted July 10, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 10, 2015 The single deck table is best when full. There can be two full hands dealt (for all 7 at the table) with a single deck. If the cards that come out on the first hand are mostly low cards then, generally speaking, the odds are better that the cards on the second hand will be mostly high cards. Bet accordingly.
