Seattle embarkation question

It's going to be a beautiful day in Seattle this Sunday when we board NCL Pearl for Alaska. Our hotel is about a mile from the pier. I was considering having the family walk to Pike Place Market in the morning while my son and I get a cab to bring the luggage (for 6) to the pier.

Has anyone else ever done this? Is it a problem at check-in if the bags are not arriving at the same time as each passenger (like airline policies)?

Hi there,

Well I have read your post 4 times and I'm trying to figure out what exactly you all are wanting to do. :) First of all, you can always drop luggage with the porters at the pier without checking in. Just give them the bags, which will then be placed on rolling carts and put on the ship later that day. So no, you don't need to stay with your luggage.

You said this is on Sunday, and yes it is going to be a glorious weekend. The Market does not open until 10 am, although restaurants open at 6. Did you want to go to the Market before you board your ship? Will you take the cab back to meet your family after dropping the luggage off?

Let us know in more detail. My thought is that you might want to forego the Market on Sunday morning and just go to the pier around 10:30 or 11 to start the check-in process.

Sorry to be obscure--but you did answer my question about dropping the luggage early. So thanks. We're scheduled for check-in/boarding at noon, so an hour or so to get our Starbucks will be fine. (And yes, the plan is for me to meander up the hill and join the family.)
