Good/safe areas in Fort Lauderdale to rent a condo (VRBO) for a few days

Looking to rent a condo in Fort Lauderdale for 4-5 days before our cruise.

Any and all suggestions and recommendations for areas of the city to stay in would be greatly appreciated.

We will have children (toddlers to a tween) and will be renting a vehicle.

Thanks.

I just saw that your dates are March and since it is peak season, you may have a hard time renting a VRBO for less than seven nights.

If that is the case, you may have to go the timeshare route.

I'm guessing you are booking a VRBO because of bedrooms and a kitchen? Many of the mom and pop motels in LBTS are set up that way.

Lauderdale by the Sea would be my choice. Vacation rentals have 7-night minimums (city ordinance), but there are several independently owned hotels that may meet your criteria. Check out Beachside Village Resort, Blue Seas Courtyard, Sea Spray, Windjammer, just to name a few.
