We finished the day at Arbeia Roman Fort. This was found in the middle of a residential area. The gate was a reconstruction built on the original foundation. DSC_0069_2_zps1goudsj6.jpg

The second Gala night took place that night...

7/6 is another Sea Day, a day to relax and start packing....

7/7/15: disembarkation.

We were not in a hurry, so had one last breakfast in Pinnacle Grill, and bid farewell to our room attendants and Pinnacle staff. Disembarkation was painless and getting a taxi outside was not difficult.

Post cruise we stayed at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen. It is a business type hotel that has shuttle to the airport the following day. There is a shopping mall close by and cheap eat options available. We flew home on BA on 7/8/15

Post cruise thoughts....

1. I would strongly recommend getting Scotland Explore Pass. All the price quoted by tour operators does not include admissions to castles etc. So, in a busy place like Stirling, Edinburgh, the line can get long during peak hours. With the pass, we just walk right in. Saved a lot of time... or go real early.

2. We hear a couple horror stories, but I can't confirm these were true. Was told by other passengers we met. In Portree (Isle of Skye), an tour operator promised a smaller group of 16 people, but he over sold his tour and ended up putting everyone in a packed big bus. Now, this is a tendered port, imagine getting everyone on shore. It was a big mess. Then in Invergordon, many people tried to use the public bus into Inverness, and the line was long and bus did not show up as scheduled. On the way back to ship, same problem. So, if you are using public transportation, please give yourself plenty of time!

3. Again, remember to breathe... not everything will turn out as planned. You may not see everything you wanted to see. I admit this was hard for me at times, since I am the big planner in the family. I have maps, literatures, guidebooks, apps, computer print outs etc.... and you know what, I did not use most of them.... breathe in.... breath out.... just go with the flow.

This concludes the long review. I am happy to answer questions. I hope this is somewhat helpful for those planning to visit these ports. Thanks for reading

Thanks Kevin for your review we were aboard as well.

As it was our first family cruise, DD might have been the youngest cruiser that sailing aboard Eurodam, we enjoyed a laid back cruise with lots of time to rest and seeing places independently.

Sorry did not get to meet your family on board. Was so tired from jet lag and lack of sleep from the night before, I passed out after the safety drill and missed the M&G. I did eventually met a few from our roll call. Glad you all enjoyed the cruise.
