Girona and Figueres

We will be in Barcelona for 2 day the beginning of October. Have visited before so would like to go to Girona and Dali Museum in Figueres. Is it possible to do this on our own by using the subway? It is only the two of us and quite expensive with a private guide.

You cannot get to Girona on the Metro. It is about an hour away on the railroad.

We took the train to both Figueres and Girona. Very easy to do on your own, but you do have to do your research ahead of time. We spent one night in Girona, then left for Figueres the next day, and then returned that evening to Barcelona.

Is it possible to do both by train in one day from Barcelona?

You can buy a tour in Barcelona that will include both destinations in a day. However, it is probably a bus tour.

 

You can do Girona/Besalu by train/bus in a day.
