Possible to transfer a free Cruise to a friend?

So I had to turn down yet another free cruise offer because the dates don't work. Of course after I hung up the phone I wondered if I could have transferred the offer to a friend who would have gone. Anyone ever do this?

No, my wife and each got one from the Tropicana in Atlantic City, we invited my sister and her family, she has to be in one cabin and I in the other, at least until we get on the ship and then they said we can change up who is in the cabin...the reason why its "free" for us at least is the amount I spend (loose) in the casino and they want you to do the same thing on the ship.

You can't do that. The person with the offer must be on the cruise.

The person that is extended the offer must be booked. If they no show the other passenger is responsible for the fare.

 

If you think about it, it is like my 30 year old daughter dining in a restaurant and herasking for my senior discount.
