angiegal Posted July 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2015 So, what do you do with diapers onboard? Regular trash? Do they provide little bags? We will be on Carnival if that helps :)
kasi1979 Posted July 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2015 e were on Holland America´s Eurodam, we were not provided with any special bags, however to keep odor at bay we braught small plastic bags to put the dirty diaper in and special ones smelling like citrus for the really stinky ones. Please keep in mind your trash will only be emptied twice a day...
Cruisin' Chick Posted July 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2015 Talk with your cabin steward. My girl went on her first cruise at 23 months of age and upon meeting our cabin steward, that was one of my first questions. He assured me that I could use the little bag (the one meant for feminine product disposal) to put it in and then stash the bag in the bathroom can. That was before the existence (that I knew of) of scented bags that counter the smell, so if you can bring some of those, even better.
Esilef Posted July 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2015 Agree. Talk to your cabin steward. Our brought me a roll of large garbage bags. I placed the dirty nappy into this and tied a knot. At the next room clean he collect this and dispose of it. Also bring scented nappy bags.

Barbluvstocruz Posted July 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2015 I always kept the little scented bags...you can even buy the dog "poop" bags. Put the diaper in there are throw it in the trash. The room steward empties the trash twice a day. It won't be an issue. Enjoy!
092306 Posted July 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2015 We used the scented bags. They sell them on a roll in a little dispenser that can clip on the diaper bag so it was very easy for travel.
Freckle53 Posted July 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2015 You can find diaper disposal bags in most big box stores in the baby department. You can find the doggie ones usually in Dollar tree stores.
gymbomb Posted July 29, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2015 We took a roll of small (bathroom trash can sized) trash bags from Dollar Tree with us. I am not sure if they were scented or not? We put one in the trash can and stuck wet diapers in it. Poop diapers got tied into their own bags. The trash was emptied twice a day so it never got too smelly. Muumuu Posted July 29, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Granddaughter has been on 3 cruises and never an issue. This last cruise in June on Breeze we were given red bio hazard bags
Esilef Posted July 30, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Zip lock bags are a great solution. For day trips place the nappy, baby wipes (in a smaller zip lock bag) and place into your handbag. When used nappy & dirty wipes get zip locked away. Use this on long flights. Place pack in seat pocket for quick trips to the toilet for a nappy change
Gardeneroflove Posted August 1, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 1, 2015 the only cruise dd was still in diapers was at 14 months on Disney, they provided a Diaper Genie. I don't know what Carnival offers, the diaper days are long behind us.
Rare LMaxwell Posted August 2, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 2, 2015 I didn't know about scented bags. Our diaper genie at home use a material that really hold any smell in; I wonder if I can get bags in the same material? Does anyone know?
cat loving cruiser Posted August 2, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2015 We have taken diaper sacks with us and they work like a charm. We like the ones made by Green-n-Pack. We've found they hold up similar to the bags in our Diaper Dekor and they have a baby powder scent that masks really bad diapers. We use them when we travel since we have 2 under 2. Use the diaper genie travel bags...they come on a roll with a clip to attach to just about anything. They smell great, and your cabin steward will thank you!!! You'll be thankful too! CAnative1 Posted August 13, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Granddaughter has been on 3 cruises and never an issue. This last cruise in June on Breeze we were given red bio hazard bags Cruised on the Miracle in Nov of 14. We had the scented bags but we placed those in the red bio hazard bags that were provided to us by the room steward. All we had to do was ask on upon meeting him and he provided us with a roll. Marie51 Posted August 14, 2015 #17 Share Posted August 14, 2015 We had a diaper genie brought to our cabin. Just ask the cabin attendant. This was on Disney. Don't know if Carnival offers this.
Waterloomarc Posted August 16, 2015 #18 Share Posted August 16, 2015 We use the scented bags as well. Only Disney (that I know of) provides diaper genies. The scented bags algorithm really well but any plastic you can tie up with work just as well.
lemonade-sails Posted August 25, 2015 #19 Share Posted August 25, 2015 Thanks! I didn't even know the scented bags existed :D :) They exist, are reasonably priced and take up hardly any room in the luggage.
Sparkygirl Posted August 26, 2015 #20 Share Posted August 26, 2015 We also talked with our cabin steward regarding which trash can we would put the diapers in scented bags into so they knew that one trash can needed to be emptied with morning service and evening turn down.
