Docking in ho chi minh

Cruising on azamara quest in December 2015.can anyone tell me where the ship docks.also is the azamara evening worth going to or best to go to Rex hotel for cocktails.

Don't know about the azamara, but the Ocean Princess (also about 700 passengers) docked in Phu My

On Aegean Odyssey (carries about 350 passengers) last February, we docked right in HCM City. About a 5-10 minute taxi ride (assuming traffic was sane) into the heart of the city.

Azamara are small enough to sail up the Saigon River & port in the city.

Be on deck for the sail-in.:cool:

 

They used to port at Ben Nha Rong (put "Bonsai River Cruise" into Googlemaps), only a 15 - 20 minute walk from the city centre (for that put "Rex Hotel" into googlemaps).

I suspect that's where cruisemom's Aegean Odyssey ported

 

Since the building of a bridge downstream from that berth, Azamara ships may be too tall to pass under it, in which case they may berth at Lotus Port, just before the bridge & a 20 minute drive from the centre. But one advantage of tiddlers like Azamara's is that they don't have to port with the leviathons at Phu My ;)
