iluvcruises Posted August 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Is Junkanoo Beach walking distance from the ship? If not, can we talk a jitney shuttle? How much and where is pick up? Thanks for any info!
Davey Wavey Posted August 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2015 It is easily walkable, about 15 minutes if you walk slowly. It's a mile straight from the ships, but the curvy road you walk on is about 1.5 miles of walking. The Fish Fry is just a few minutes further if you want lunch. monctonguy Posted August 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Very close..just walk it. get to see some sights along the way. Great little beach, free to access and cheap drinks there as well. Its a must each time I am in Nassau!

Thanks for any info! As you exit the pier turn right and walk towards BC Hilton, the beginning of the beach is right after the Hilton. Walk to the midpoint of the beach to avoid crowds. The walk is less then 1 mile.

Is the Fish Fry an actual eatery or are you referring to the Arawak Cay? Is there a particularly good place to eat there?
karena1 Posted September 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) we walk to Junkanoo all the time. We get loungers at Jyah. This is the first area at Junkanoo right before the bathrooms. Barry is a great guy and keeps his section of the beach nice and clean. Lots less rocks in his area than if you go past the bathrooms. Barry has drinks and there are also other vendors out there selling food/drink. Great public beach to spend the day and it is cool to sit there and watch the ships leave, especially Oasis.
