MaiTaiMary Posted August 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2015 There is a fish & chips eatery on the Freedom, correct? Any opinions on it? I'm not a big seafood eater, but my DH is and he is wondering if it's any good. Thanks! [emoji2]

mrpayroll Posted August 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2015 I have had the fish and chips several times. Sometimes they have been good and some times they have been very greasy.
love my grandkids Posted August 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Have found them very greasy over the years and most cruises will not even go there. Sad wish they would do a better job.

joepeka Posted August 14, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) What else do they have? It's been a couple of years since we were on Freedom but they had a bouillabaisse which I really liked (had it on Conquest several years before that also). I'm not sure if it's still offered. Martini Mom Posted August 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2015 The fish and chips are ok. A little greasy. I prefer the ceviche and ahi tuna. You can read my whole photo review if you want. The link is in my signature line.
Landlocked_N_Texas Posted August 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2015 The fish is sometimes greasy and sometimes good. They also have ceviche (good!), fried oysters (not as good); a watermelon and ahi salad (also good!)
joepeka Posted August 14, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 14, 2015 The photo that Martini Mom posted of what I think is the bouillabaisse doesn't look quite the same as I remember - unless that bowl has been eaten on before the photo was taken. I remember lots of seafood and and a whole crawfish - it was great.

joepeka Posted August 14, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Nope, that pic was taken right away. Well then I'm disappointed and not sure I can recommend it to the OP. Unless you had it and liked it just fine?
Martini Mom Posted August 14, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 14, 2015 It's only open a couple hours a day too

I didn't have it, my friend did. She said it was just okay. Maybe she just got a bowl without all the good stuff. She only got it once, so who knows. Teetah86 Posted August 14, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 14, 2015 I was on the Freedom during the Fourth of July week. The pictures above are true for my food experience. The soup is good if you like a thin soup with some assorted seafood and lots of broth. The upper area is a fairly calm place to gather and eat if you can manage the stairs. BLTMA Posted September 25, 2015 #15 Share Posted September 25, 2015 We ate there and the fish was great one day and super greasy the next. Lots of people like the seafood soup there - we didn't care for it. The ceviche there wasn't very good either. But they are super friendly! Better is the Pizza Pirate at the back of the ship - open 24 hours. Best pizza ever! Also Guy's Burgers and fries are just amazing!
maeormaenot Posted September 25, 2015 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2015 I liked the fish. DH loved the fried oysters. I have a shellfish allergy so I do not risk eating oysters, though its possible they are OK.
RjayB Posted September 25, 2015 #17 Share Posted September 25, 2015 I love fish and chips, and all fried seafood...but on the Glory last month evertyhing we tried (calamari, oysters, fish, french fries) was VERY greasy. It was very disappointing compared to years past on Freedom and Liberty. Sounds like the greasy trend is fleetwide :(
