I am looking to book carnival triump from Galveston Texas to San Juan pr leaving oct 24 2015.

 

I would like to arrive the night before (oct 23) and stay somewhere around the terminal. Any recommendation on hotel ?

 

Another big issue is getting from the airport to hotel. I see the terminal is pretty far from the airport. Any help or guidance to get from airport to hotel/cruise terminal area ?

If you look on the portion of Cruise Critic devoted to the Houston area, called the Gulf Departures board, you will find lots of info on hotels, transportation, etc. Can't give you the link right now, but someone else will shortly, I'm sure.

Staying near either airport will not put you anywhere near Galveston. Much better to get shuttle service from airport to Galveston, and stay in Galveston. That would give certainly give you a more relaxing embarkation day.
