IUHoops Posted August 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2015 Looking at the Carnival Dream and considering a balcony room on deck 6 that appears to be above the disco. How is the noise level in cabins above the disco? Will be traveling w/ DW and DD (15). Thanks for any responses.
2Ports Posted August 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2015 I'd avoid it if you can - we were above the disco once and NEVER AGAIN! One of the first things we check when looking at cabins.
Cruisin Broad Posted August 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) There are various websites that give information on the various decks/cabins to avoid. It looks as though some of the aft extended balconies may be okay, but there are several cabins listed on deck 6 to avoid. seannyice81 Posted August 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2015 If you're a night owl and out until 2-3am each night, you will probably be fine. The reality is that the metal in the ship carries sound, particularly to the cabins above. I wouldn't book them.
bobsfamily Posted August 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) If you go to the disco, then fine. Otherwise it's going to be loud in the room when trying to sleep. Just re-read your post... 15 yo - might want to find another cabin. Edited August 23, 2015 by bobsfamily
HawkIVette Posted August 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) Yes, avoid any floor above the Prommanade deck or below the Lido deck. Pool chairs getting slide around above you in the morning- Made that mistake once and never again. Haven't been on the Dream yet, but if just like the Breeze, even watch where your balcony is compared to whats below on deck 5 if it has the outside deck around it. Hot tub (noise problem) smoke from outside grill (C side BBQ), Outside Lanai below (noise). Edited August 23, 2015 by HawkIVette

Rare sid_9169 Posted August 24, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2015 Always, always, always check the deck plans beforehand... If I can't get a cabin on a floor that has cabins both above and below, I look for another cruise... No way would I want to have wasted good vacation money, only to be kept awake by noise all night...
