Budget Queen Posted August 27, 2015 #26 Share Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Excuse me for pointing out the oblivious, but our $250 OBC on our upcoming Hawaii cruise is like tax free cash. -- it is equivalent to earning closer to $325 for us. :) Not everyone remembers to consider that You need to take another look at your tax accounting. :) Edited August 27, 2015 by Budget Queen
CRUZBUDS Posted August 27, 2015 #27 Share Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) You need to take another look at your tax accounting. :) We live in CA -- which has the highest state income tax -- even higher than New York ;) But I am just ball parking -- I just sign the tax form where I'm told Edited August 27, 2015 by CRUZBUDS
SadieN Posted August 27, 2015 #28 Share Posted August 27, 2015 We live in CA -- which has the highest state income tax -- even higher than New York ;) But our property tax is lower. (Let's not talk about our gas tax. But we don't have many toll roads.) *** Had dinner next to a couple one night in the Conquest a few years ago. The DH was saying how good a bargain Carnival stock was, etc. we ask him if he had received the shareholder OBC. His answer was in his face, full on 'deer in headlights' They were on cruise #4 for the year, and had done many other CCL cruises. Didn't know about the OBC. Rare skittl1321 Posted August 27, 2015 #29 Share Posted August 27, 2015 You need to take another look at your tax accounting. :) An effective tax rate of 30%ish isn't that unusual.
Jana60 Posted August 27, 2015 #30 Share Posted August 27, 2015 An effective tax rate of 30%ish isn't that unusual. Tell me about it my take home pay is about 53% of my gross and I rarely get a refund!
guxu Posted August 27, 2015 #31 Share Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) I would say CCL is not a stock that will give you quick money. But for long term, you cannot go wrong with it. In my portfolios, CCL has one of the best annualized gains, 25% and 28%. That does not include dividend or OBC. emmak8 Posted August 27, 2015 #32 Share Posted August 27, 2015 Right now the stock is near its all time high. Something else to consider.
