Morgans Posted August 30, 2015 #51 Share Posted August 30, 2015 You're cleverer than me Steve - don't know how to ''indicate' on a photo. London is a great place and I think the photos are superb. Well done Ssisland girl.
Ssislandgirl Posted August 30, 2015 Author #52 Share Posted August 30, 2015 If you keep your eyes at street sign level or higher, you will soon find works by "Jonesy", whose tiny sculptures adorn the tops of the street sign posts. He also placed this green head with feathers on top of a wall I wonder if this car qualifies as a piece of art. I know this little ash tray face does "Gregos", just like "Jonesy", takes street art way out of the box by distributing face masks in random places. Recently he has been working in Bayeux, France. So watch out for him on the way to the tapestry! more to come

Ssislandgirl Posted August 30, 2015 Author #54 Share Posted August 30, 2015 "Roa" is a Belgian artist who specializes in large murals of animals using mostly black, white and gray colors. Clet Abraham modifies street signs with stickers which maintain the meaning of the sign, but make you smile at the same time. A little ray of sunshine while you are sitting in traffic "VHILS", who is Portuguese, deconstructs walls with a sledge hammer to produce absolutely terrific, almost 3-D like portraits and wall art. You might have seen one of his pieces near the port of Lisbon more to follow
Ssislandgirl Posted August 30, 2015 Author #55 Share Posted August 30, 2015 "Space Invader" uses his tile mosaics to create pixel-like art. He has invaded lots of wall spaces. Have you noticed the mosaics on the walls of buildings in Paris? "Asbestos" specializes in combining photographs and paintings on wood and recyclables and then installs his work on the streets. Here he portrays Will Ferrell. There is also another "Gregos" in the photo Paste-up artists paint their art on paper, then cut it out and paste it onto their medium of choice like wallpaper, using a special glue made out of wheat paste. more to come
Ssislandgirl Posted August 30, 2015 Author #56 Share Posted August 30, 2015 There are countless, other, very talented artists displaying their work This heart was just being finished on the day we visited Hopefully you enjoyed my quirky little street art review. I am very passionate about it and who knows, in a few years I might be able to say; "I saw his work in London on the backstreets of Shoreditch before he was famous!" Maybe some of you will venture out to see the galleries. There are also lots of great walking tours to give you guidance and show you around! Have fun and enjoy this great city! We certainly did.... The next morning we left for Heathrow, where we saw our last piece of "airport" art in the terminal We were off to 4 more days in Iceland before returning home to the US.
