Leavethekidswithmom Posted August 31, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) Any kind of OBC can be used, just go to Guest Services and tell them how much and who to make to voucher to. It can't be used for the DSC. Edited August 31, 2015 by Leavethekidswithmom
cruzsnooze Posted August 31, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Remove the auto gratuity and cash out the OBC in the casino (3%) and then use cash to tip those that serve you.
ETski Posted September 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) Confused about non refundable and refundable credit. How do you know the difference. Received some OBC from TA, and some for owning NCL stock. Also received dining credit on a promotion. /SIZE] Edited September 1, 2015 by ETski
Fido Chuckwagon Posted September 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Non refundable OBC no, refundable OBC yes.:) This is incorrect. Non-Refundable OBC can bue used for tips as well, I used it on my last cruise to tip the butler, guest services had no problem applying it to the tip. Fido Chuckwagon Posted September 1, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Remove the auto gratuity and cash out the OBC in the casino (3%) and then use cash to tip those that serve you. Why cash it out through the casino and lose 3 percent? You can just go to guest services and use onboard credit to tip anyone you want. You just tell them the staff member and how much of your obc you want to use, and they will do it for you, and give you a voucher that represents the amount that you can hand to the staff member yourself just as if you handed them cash. Tesser26 Posted September 1, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2015 I was just looking to find out the same thing! Thanks OP. This is a good option with the poor Canadian dollar (1.37) and the good exchange that you can get with NCL (I booked at 1.11). I will definitely purchase extra OBC to be used as tips! jakesnana Posted September 1, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2015 This is incorrect. Non-Refundable OBC can bue used for tips as well, I used it on my last cruise to tip the butler, guest services had no problem applying it to the tip. While you may be able to use non-refundable onboard credit for tips, such as your butler, the concierge, etc. you are not allowed to use it for the DSC, which is what I think the OP was talking about.
