LIVE from OASIS (Sept. 5, 2015) - Pics, Periscope & Prospectus

Villain, thanks for the casino attempt. I had to laugh when I heard the "Excuse me sir." I knew what was coming......:D Carry on.

Ha. I know, I felt like a criminal. I'll try again one morning before it opens. I was almost at the Ultimate Texas Holdem table too before I was scolded.

I spy with my little eye something roast beef.

I may or may not have had two more RB sandwiches upon returning to the ship today. I snapped this picture while the guy was reloading the au jus tub. I like to think that he was refilling it just for me.

What I also witnessed in the Park Cafe a short time ago was a woman washing her hands at the machine where you get ice or cold water. Wow.

Coki Beach was a little more crowded today then it was last year when we were there. Besides the Oasis, the Norwegian Getaway and two Carnival tugboats were in port as well.

We arrived around noon so all the prime spots on the beach were taken already. Here was the view from our chairs:

I did manage to inhale two Bushwackers there and they were both very good.

My mophie charging station doubled as a nice coaster for my Bushwacker. I bought my mophie a while ago and it has come in very handy especially while traveling. I can charge my iPhone eight times on it before I have to recharge the mophie. I can also charge my iPad, Nook, Fitbit and anything else that has a USB wire. And you can charge two things at once.

The snorkeling at Coki Beach is pretty good. The fish come right up to you and expect food. Many people bring little doggie treats (seriously) into the water and the fish come right up and nibble on it right out of your hand.

There were a ton of black and yellow striped fish (I guess they are from Pittsburgh). I'm sorry, I don't know what they are called. I'm not a fish expert.

I did manage to swim with these two little guys.

Ok, maybe not.

Yorkvillain, can you comment on how crowded the pools are on the ship? I'm not getting off on any stop other than St. Maarten and am interested in the availability of deck chairs closest to the pool.

Yorkvillain,

Really enjoying your reviews. Thanks.

I think you are on our roll call for Anthem in October

next year.

It's been great reading your post and looking

at the photos. You are doing an awesome job.

Is that Carnival Liberty with you guys at port?

The local news here were saying it caught fire

in the engine room today. Hope everyone's ok.

Nice meeting you and Courtney tonight Tim. We saw Simeon last night and he was hilarious. Great comedy on this cruise.:)

Wait, what? Bob is on a cruise? Who's gonna help us? Who's gonna answer our questions? Who's gonna lead us out of the darkness and into the light?:eek:

You mean that is not the ladies' room? What did you think all those glasses of yellow liquid were, lemonade? :D

I think it is like any other ship. If you get there early enough, you will get a seat by the pool. If you stay on the ship while in port then obviously there will be plenty of chairs near the pool too.

On our first sea day I noticed that the main pool was pretty crowded however the sports pool was not so bad, so we went there. We usually just check out the main pool, sports pool and beach pool and go to the one that is the least crowded (Except for when we saw a guy blow his nose into his hands and then put his hands in the water. That pool was off limits for me for the rest of the day).

If you can't get a seat by the pool, there are plenty of chairs as long as you don't mind walking up one deck.

Yes, we will be on the Anthem with you on October 20, 2016. I think I started that roll call thread! We were actually discussing today how we can squeeze another cruise in sometime around May or June. The Anthem would most likely be our choice for that trip as well since it is nearby and we wouldn't have to fly.

That was the Carnival Liberty with us. Someone mentioned on periscope about the engine room fire but I don't know anything else about it.

Ohhhhh. Now it makes sense.

I admit that I am a germaphobe but some of the behavior this week by some of the passengers has been down right nauseating.

Day 4 is a wrap.

I am so glad that Courtney has no idea how to use periscope because tonight at Michael Jackson trivia I had to get up on stage at the On-Air Club and do my best "Thriller" dance. I just kept on doing that same move over and over again where I put my two hands up in the air and then prance back and forth like I was about to claw someone for stealing my Bushwacker.

For my daring choreography we were rewarded with ONE bonus point. It wouldn't be enough though as we had 22 points while another team had 22.5. I thought we should have received a bonus point for our team name "Smooth Tim-inal". Come on! No points for originality? Next time I am just going to put "Cruise Fans" as our team name since creativity means zilch.

Dinner at Chops was very good again. On Wednesday we will be at Holland House in St. Maarten before returning to the ship for more trivia and dinner at Giovanni's Table at 9pm.

I was going to tell you, but then I thought you might end up on the towel next to your cat, in shock, waiting for the next cricket to chase.:D

Nothing amazes me anymore. The wash your hands song hit home with that lady, maybe just a bit too much. They might just need to add a line that says "wash them in the washroom after a job, don't wash them in Park Cafe drink dispenser because it makes you look like a slob".

Enjoy your day.

Can someone explain the differences in the pools? I guess what I don't understand is the beach pool. Is there sand? What makes it a beach pool? Sorry to hijack the thread.

The beach pool is salt water, and the others are fresh. The beach pool is sloped to its waters edge so as the ship rocks the water in the pool rolls up the slope, just like at the beach. Three rows of the chairs at the very edge of this pool are on this gentle slope. The other pools have the traditional step up and over lip to get into it.

I might have missed something, but it gives you the idea,

Lol. I think you should record and submit the updated version of the song to RCI.
