cruzinfourfun Posted September 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2015 We are taking the autotrain from Lorton Virginia to Sanford Florida to cruise out of PC. Can some one recommend a hotel near Lorton? One with outside security. I have also posted this question on the East coast forum.

It is just on the other side of I-95 from the Lorton station and there is a shopping mall across the way and several restaurants in the area for a decent pre-boarding lunch. Now that there is no longer free wine on board, we buy a few small bottles and snacks for our compartment since the lounge car is so crowded. The cost cutting: no wine, fewer lounge cars, etc. has made the trip less enjoyable.

cruzinfourfun Posted September 14, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Hello, The Comfort inn is at the same exit for the auto train. Excellent choice and enjoy your cruise I have been told not to leave a fully loaded car parked overnight in the parking lot. That this is not a safe area. I am upset because i would prefer to drive down the night before. Who knows what will happen on Monday morning. Have you left a loaded car in their parking lot? It's all going to be visable.
