SadieN Posted September 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Found this on CNN about Verizon. Towards the end it says that Carnival is considering cruises to Cuba next year. Something new or did the reporter get it wrong and is talking about Fathom? Interesting use of the word 'considering'. http://money.cnn.com/2015/09/18/technology/verizon-cuba/index.html

SadieN Posted September 18, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted September 18, 2015 But fathom is a done deal. It's that word 'considering' that has me wondering. (Maybe I'm reading too much into this, too many lawyers in the family.)
love my grandkids Posted September 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Happy to see the culture of Cuba but will wait until pricing is reasonable.

Should expect to see port stops sooner on most major lines I would imagine.
Florings Posted September 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Would love to cruise to Cuba. There is so much culture to see and the people are wonderful. Our friends from England go there frequently and love the sights, sounds, flavors, people. It is so very close to us....how awesome when we are able to go. escentialssoycandles Posted September 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2015 That would without a doubt be on my list. My boyfriend is Cuban and second generation here in America, so it would be amazing for him to see the place where is father, grandparents and family grew up. I am closely following this on :-)
HaliMakai Posted September 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2015 It would be a welcome addition and 3-4 days out of Florida. I love cruising, but Costa Maya, Cozumel and Nassua are not that exciting anymore.
lido deck larry Posted September 18, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2015 It's about time. I cannot wait. Ignore the anti-progress hypocritical dinosaurs that will complain about the cold war, iron curtain and all that. Cuba, here we come. evandbob Posted September 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2015 I've already looked at existing sailings, but they are on rather small, old ships and rather expensive. I was really tempted by 1 itinerary, it just circumnavigated Cuba with about 5 or 6 different ports after leaving from Jamaica. Our Canadian friends have been going there for years, and I've heard great stories about their visits. I just think it would be wonderful to see Cuba as it is now, before Carnival builds its shopping corrals there.
Taters Posted September 18, 2015 #11 Share Posted September 18, 2015 I'm looking forward to visiting Cuba someday, but want to get there before it changes too much. I do not want to see golden arches and KFC signs there.
Rare LMaxwell Posted September 18, 2015 #12 Share Posted September 18, 2015 I'm looking forward to itineraries with Cuba. I would go. I love to see new places and get a sampling of their history and culture.
