Josephnica Posted September 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I'm looking for people who have used or purchased the Carnival digital/E-gift cards from PayPal digital gifts site. I am interested in purchasing them as I have money/credits in my PayPal account. Also, not trying to be rude, but I know about other payment options, gift cards on the Carnival site, the pros and cons of PayPal and things of that sort. LOL I'm just looking for people to share experience using the Carnival digital gift cards from PayPal. Hopefully it will help me with my decision to purchase them. Thanks a bunch folks! Happy sailing!:D
robtoby Posted September 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2015 Never bought directly from PayPal, but have used Newegg and paid via PayPal. Sorry not exactly your question.

Josephnica Posted September 21, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted September 21, 2015 Never bought directly from PayPal, but have used Newegg and paid via PayPal. Sorry not exactly your question. Thanks! LOL! it's not exactly but it does help a lot as my goal is to see how I can use my Paypal to purchase Carnival gift cards. My comment was purely to try to prevent people from going off topic LOL. I'll have to check that site out. Was it a physical card or digital one where you would have to print out a page with a barcode? Thanks again, that's moving things forward! :)
Josephnica Posted September 21, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) should be the same as any e gift card. people use the Verizon cards all the time. I just found out about the Verizon ones! I was so excited then I checked the site and they were sold out:( Do you know if they are physical cards or printouts? I know you say they use the Verizon ones all the time but the site led me to believe they were cards you get in the mail. I guess my concern is if they will process a print-out without too much static. Thanks though :) Edited September 21, 2015 by Josephnica

Thanks though :) They are print outs from many places, and work fine... but some carnival people do not know how to process them onboard, and you may have to ask another rep. ShdwKnght Posted September 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2015 This past January, my wife and I used the e-cards from Verizon for our OBC. I just took the print outs to the service desk, they scanned them and we were good to go. No problem at all.
NCTribeFan Posted September 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2015 Verizon cards are now physical cards. They aren't doing e-cards any longer. There are many threads about them already on the boards. I've used cards to pay on cruise balance and I've used them onboard to apply to my S&S. I've also purchased both physical and e-cards through Kroger (and gotten fuel points) when Verizon was sold out. E-card arrived via email with 24 hours and I had them immediately applied to my account. Some cards have PINs and some don't. Recent thread here said people were having trouble applying payments because the website was now only accepting cards with PINs. Haven't tried so didn't keep up with that thread. I don't buy gift cards unless I'm getting something for nothing - prefer the Verizon with 10% discount, but if I have a final payment coming up, I'll buy the Kroger card and get a discount at the gas pump. Elsabear Posted September 21, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I have used several of the PayPal ones - eBay offered big bonuses on e-bucks at the time. I had no problems at all
robtoby Posted September 21, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 21, 2015 The ones I purchased (using PayPal) from Newegg are e-cards, usually arrive via email within 30 minutes and work great. Can apply at Guest Services desk or at the kiosks (much faster) on the ship.

halterk Posted September 22, 2015 #13 Share Posted September 22, 2015 I have bought several Carnival Gift Cards via Ebay. The Merchant selling them is Paypal. Ebay gives 2% ebay bucks when you purchase them. They also run specials where you can get up to 10% ebay bucks back for buying them. And the best part is if you can get Ebay gift cards at a discount (a month or so back you could get them from Target for 10% off), you can use your Ebay gift card to purchase Carnival gift cards. I ended up buying Ebay GCs at 10% off, then buying Carnival GCs when they went 10% off using my already discounted Ebay gift cards (meaning 20% off!!) I have a lot of gamestop credit that I am hoping to turn into ebay GCs then into Carnival GC's for my upcoming vacation.
