FWIW, Why I didn't get a beverage package as planned

Calling on the sharing police.....

If guest A has the replenish package and orders some non-alcoholic frozen concoction and guest B gets a shot of rum with their Diamond coupon, pours it into guest A cup and they get two straws and share the drink, is that sharing?

If a drink from a beverage package consumed by someone who did not purchase that beverage package, it's sharing.

While we're on the subject of beverage packages.... Seems like they've gotten a lot more popular. On our Last RCCL cruise (Navigator) it seemed like they were trying to control consumption by limiting service. They also had just added cabins, so maybe they hadn't back a good adjustment in crew. (Especially at the pools and casino).

Hoping it's better on Liberty this time around. Waiting 20 mins for a beer I already paid for is not my cup of tea.

And you thought you'd get your money's worth by drinking enough - well, RCI has a plan for that and you found it.

I've seen a wide variance in bar service since the packages became available. We recently spent 32 days on Vision, and the bar service on that ship was excellent, very little waiting, lots of roving bar servers. Earlier last year we spent 9 days on Liberty, and had much longer waits getting a drink on the pool deck.

Many of the servers that were working by the pools were not assigned to the pool deck. They were up there to make extra money as pool side is normally a very good place to get a bunch of sales. Now that many people have the drink package there isn't really a good reason for extra servers to go up by the pool during their free time.

I just walked to the bar

Thanks for explains this new dimension (waiters can wait on their free time to earn extra tips). Never understood that, of course with a slice of %18 of every package coming their way, they probably don't need to work on their free time like they used to.

On the cruise I was refereeing to, I gave up waiting for a server on day 2. Average wait time for service at the pool bars and the casino was around 10 mins. I too am a recovering smuggler, (Hi Neal!) but if these type of wait times are built in to the system - I might have a relapse.
