What time do shops close in Old San Juan

We will be in San Juan from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the Navigator in March. What time will the shops be closing? Any suggestions on what to do until 9:00?

I think it is very safe to say that with 3000+ passengers in port, the shops will be open as long the ship is docked. :D

That has been my experience with all ports over the years.

Resurrecting this post. Does anyone have a more useful response? We are in port from 3 until 11pm on a Tuesday. Do the shops close at 5 or 6 (as in many towns on the planet) or will some shops be open until 8 or nine ( as in many towns on the planet)?

 

We want to wander around the town shopping and drop in on two or three restaurants for a drink and a small bite.

If a ship is in port, shops are open late. We were there in December and a lot of shops and restaurants were still not open but there were plenty of options still. Stop at Punto de Vista on top of the Hotel Milano. Great views and bogo mojitos until 5:00. Greengo's has fantastic nachos! And if you have time on the way back to the ship, stop at Carlis and watch the bartender make the best mojitos ever! It is definitely an art form!

Of course the restaurants and bars will be open late but most all of the shops do close by at least 6:00pm some actually at 5:00pm. Regardless if there is a ship in port or not.
