cyclone1985 Posted September 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2015 Does anyone know a tour operator that will take you to Las Caletas in PV that is not a ship excursion? Wanting to do this but thinking it would be way less expensive to find a private tour operator?
MSN-Travelers Posted October 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) Las Caletas is an excursion site operated by Vallarta Adventures. The cruise lines have an exclusive deal that prevents Vallarta Adventure from selling direct to cruise ship passengers. Infact, Vallarta Adventures, as the excursion operator, is not allowed to sell any excursion direct cruise passengers if the ship sells the same excursion. You may find third-party excursion brokers that offer Las Caletas online but at the end of the day, you will be told that all of the slots are reserved (by the cruise line). It's through the ship or nothing. Edited October 1, 2015 by MSN-Travelers
Rare Hlitner Posted October 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2015 If you try to book directly with Vallarta Adventures the cost works out to about $93 per person (with the online discount). But they do want your local hotel/address and also a phone number. The tours they operate for those of us in live in PV often will have different times then the cruise line tours which are scheduled to fit with your port times.
