Just back from the Glory and will post some thoughts as a sort of mini review.

We are Diamond and there were two of us, about 300 platinums and a bunch of fttf. Boarding was delayed until after 12 and about 400 of us boarded at one time. So much for fttf to come after plats and diamonds.

Mike Pack is the best CD we have sailed with. Third time with him and he keeps getting better.

Elizabeth Setzer in the piano bar is the best PBE. Really knew how to run the bar, excellent piano player and so personable kept us all coming back.

Ship has playlist which is well below what Carnival used to present in the main lounge. Only good one is Epic Rock.

Once again no flyons. They did have Hasbro for two evenings entertainment. Great for 10 years but no so good for adults.

Comedians were just ok but lucky for us we had the piano bar to spend most of our time in.

Food was good and so was service. I have unusual food allergies that the galley screwed up on first few nights but when we complained to the MD and than saw sous chef was fine for nights 4-7.

Diamond event was tea with capt on the bridge and we spent about 45 minutes alone with the capt chatting. Was really neat to do this

Capt celebration started at 7 30 and didnt last long at all. Stopped by after dinner and was mobbed with about 50 people on line to take pictures with capt. According to Mike nobody wanted to do this for early seating and

Carnival is changing to this. OK but they will do this without us taking part.

Do not save fun times but feel free to ask questions.

Thanks for your observations about the Glory. Disheartening about FTTF's getting to board at the same time as diamond and platinum loyalty members - So big deal about being a real VIFP. I suppose the FTTF's also held up the line with embarkation photos too?

Lousy theater entertainment and so so comedy? That means I'll have to find my entertainment in the casino. Glory is the last Conquest class ship for me to sail on, will accomplish that on a 21 day B2B this coming January and February.

Sounds like you had a good cruise with a few hiccups, (or a typical CCL cruise) thanks again for posting

Generally comedy is better than what we saw this time. Mike is an awesome CD and does a lot of music trivia making it a lot of fun and getting lots of people involved.

Did have a good cover band but they played in atrium with not much seating so we never stayed much.

We managed to walk around the embarkation photo stops with out any trouble.

One more observation

New interest program certainly better than before. Picked the value plan for $ 60 which gives you unlimited time.

Email and fb were excellent and very quick to load mail.

web browsing after the first day was rather slow and often timed out.

Had a problem using it on our cell phone and went to guest services. Girl gave me printed card with instructions and walked away without even asking if I had questions. Finally gave up and just checked email in cabin using laptop.

They used to have an internet manager to help people and now you go to guest services for a lower level of help.

Another comment

Carnival posts signs that people should not enter lido restaurants only wearing bathing suits and should be wearing footwear.

Numerous occasions last week noticed guys walking thru in bathing suits and no shirt and females in just bathing suits with no coverups.

More noticeable as many of the people had rather large and very colorful tattoos and even recognized some from numerous trips thru.

Dont care what people wear in main DR but after being out in the sun on lido this is rather discusting and Carnival doesnt seem to care.

News flash: blues, reds, and golds are still VIFP's. VIFP is a rewards program, and anyone can be a member. You just get different perks at the Platinum and Diamond levels. Like getting FTTF for free. [emoji6]

True, thank you. And those who purchased FTTF are supposed to board after the diamonds and platinums, not stampede through them. OP said anyone with priority boarding herded together to board at the same time. That's not how boarding procedure is supposed to work according to Carnival's policy.

BTW, Diamonds and Platinums have "purchased" their FTTF through their loyalty and continuing business.
