MikeBTN Posted October 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) Wow, very long stop in Cozumel on December 4 - 8 am-7 pm. This gives us time to do multiple things. First time in Cozumel without the kids. If you could do two different things in Cozumel, what would you do? Our other stops are more "beach"-y so looking for ideas besides Mr Sanchos, Playa Mia, etc. Thanks for your recommendations! JohninDC Posted October 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Private driver for 1/2 day to tour the Mayan ruins or tequila factory and then tour the far side of the island - less populated and very few tourists with stunning scenery. Drop off downtown for dinner, then cab back to the ship.
mrsfuzzmo Posted October 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2015 I'd do the Dune Buggy or X-rails tour, then back to the ship to shower, then go walk around town for a while. OR Bar Hop tour, shop around town, then go back to the ship to sleep!!
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2015 You can take a ferry over to Playa del Carmen, shop, walk around, grab a bite to eat, etc., without too much fear you'll miss the ship because of ferry timing. You also have plenty of time to head over to Tulum on your own, take your time on the tour of the ruins, grab a nice lunch on the beach or in the town or head back to Playa del Carmen and eat and walk around there, then catch a later ferry back to Coz. And it opens up an opportunity to go to Xplor, Xel Ha, or Xcaret waterparks if that interests you or take a cenote (cave) tour.
Orangepost-it Posted October 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2015 We are also in Cozumel for a longer time frame (10.5 hours) and are debating the Tulum ruins, but iffy about the timing of doing it on our own. How much is the ferry and how to get from Playa Dr Carmen to the ruins?
