ps376 Posted October 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2015 DH, myself and our 6 month old baby are planning on taking a cruise this Dec. Thinking about the southern/eastern caribbean itinereary on the carnival liberty. Has anyone taken an 8 month old baby on this itinerary? I've read a lot of posts on the ship itself, but not many on the port excursions. What kind of excursions are doable with a baby? The ship seems to stop at the following ports: San Jan, PR St. Thomas, USVI Bridgetown, Barbados St Lucia St Kitts St Maarten We're into general sightseeing, and anything nature (Love taking hikes with baby in a carrier). Can we rent a car and drive ourselves in any of these places? Or, is it better to take a taxi, or organized tour? I'm not a big fan of a big bus tour where we're rushed and cannot accommodate to baby's schedule. We would much rather have our own vehicle, so we can take our time. Marinewife05 Posted October 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2015 We've done city tours and walked around. What kind of schedule do you need to stick to? We ended up walking laps around the deck in the stroller to get him to nap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cb at sea Posted October 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2015 The 8 month old won't care WHERE they go, or what they do...so it's totally up to you!
wampuscat7 Posted November 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2015 In St. Thomas, there are open air shuttles that will take you downtown for shopping or to Meagan's Bay, which has very calm water and lots of shade. You could head back to the shop whenever you wanted by catching another shuttle.
