Shmoo here Posted October 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Hi All We have heard that rental pick up can be long and conjested at Port Canaveral, but what about dropping off. I would think it would be pretty quick. Right!:o Thanks for any help. Burt The issue at Port Canaveral is that the rental places are not located AT the port, but in Cape Canaveral (2-5 miles away). Pick up or drop off you still need a shuttle to get to/from the rental places. That plus all those people who are getting rental cars just arrived at Port Canaveral at the same time. As for a quicker drop off, it's a good idea to drop off extra passengers (people other than the driver) and luggage first at the port, then return the car. It's much easier/quicker for one person without luggage to catch the shuttle back to the port than for a group with their bags.
Beachdude Posted October 13, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Ah thanks Shmoo, that is what I needed to know. We aren't really in a hurry, but I learned over the years that if I were, I would get a taxi for the last couple of miles. Burt
ATC cruiser Posted October 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2015 I do the reverse of that in picking up a car at PC. I go by myself on the bus with no luggage, get the car, and then come back and pickup the family. It's much easier to get on the bus by yourself, than it is for four people with all the luggage.
