Great review, thank you! We will be on her next October for one of the West Coast cruises between her Alaska and Australia deployments. Can't wait!

As a side, we will be on the Drag Queens at Sea cruise on Adventure OTS this coming January. I'd be interested to hear any more detail about that aspect of your cruise, if you'd be willing to share!

And finally, great portrait! :-)

Thank you for the wonderful review Tom, just 19 days until our cruise on her! Loved the photos.

Quick question, are there still kettles in the cabins?

Thanks

I'm not Tom, but yes, the kettles were still there, and will apparently be staying all the way until Sydney. There was a little tray with a small kettle, two mugs, two teaspoons and sugar and coffee sachets, as well as those little UHT milk servings. Didn't notice teabags, but I'm not much of a tea drinker.

I brought my own coffee, and got an extra carton of milk with room service one morning and kept it in the minibar.

Have a great cruise!

Thanks for the review & pics Tom. We will be on her Singapore to Perth 3rd Nov. Have done Voyager x 2 and Mariner x 1 so will feel like home. Glad the kettles will stay. Love my early coffee on the balcony. Hope the haze over Asia lessens before we go. 😎

I too was on this cruise it was fantastic only downsides were having to get off whilst our new found friends were staying on to aus. and the weather but hey it wasn't windy or raining in the pubs. made good use of the drinks packages, maybe just as well I wasn't staying on lol. staff were great, ship looked great (my first ever cruise was on her back when she was biggest in world) I do miss the longer running track but there wasn't many mornings I could use it cause outside closed. What a great atmosphere in a packed star lounge when England played rugby against Australia. as was mentioned there was a lot of motion and sick bags on all stairs. I wasn't feeling sick at all until I took a taxi in Barcelona to airport the stop start of the car made me feel bad (I used to often get car sick but never been on a ship). A great week that passed toooooo quick

Great review GinBoy

Interesting that Kitty from Entertainment staff was on Explorer as me and my mate were on Allure of the Seas in September on a Western Med cruise and she was on that ship, she is a lot of fun. Looks like she has gone from one ship to another one.

Lovely photos and you are a bit of a hoot Mr Ginboy.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

1. Does the Explorer still have a little cinema? They keep going on about the new screen over the pool (whatev), but I really want to know if the cinema still exists!

2. Are the fridges FRIDGES or are they just those lame cooler things? I've only been on Radiance before so I'm not sure about Explorer.

Thank you! and I look forward to seeing the rest of your posts :)

Hi, I met Tom and Tommy on the same cruise and can answer for you, sure they won't mind.:)

The little cinema on deck 2 forward is no longer used. The desk in front is now where the Loyalty Ambassador works from.

The fridges are as you described , we had an inside cabin in deck 6. I don't know about the new cabins. Hey Tom , how was your fridge?:).

Great pictures Tom. Lovely meeting you both. I think I am in your picture from the Top tier party in the theatre, right at the front in the left corner.

I agree with you about the night club. As you know there was a bit of discussion from myself on the roll call about it , having the Drag queens at sea on board sure livened the place up.

My fave drink now, Porn star Martini !!!!

Such a shame the little cinema is no more :( I thought it would be fun to watch a movie at sea.

And boo to the faux fridge - but really it's not a huge deal is it?

Me too Cruzbear 24! Have been looking daily on http://www.haze.gov.sg/ but its still in the unhealthy range. I fear spending the 1 day we have in Singas looking out the hotel room and spending the first few days of the cruise in the cabin.

I was hoping the bad weather in the Phillipines would result in some extra rain over Sumatra and Borneo, (not too much, just enough to put out the fires and make the jungle too hard for them to re-light) but alas, the typhoon is heading north.

Whats in the drink please? Just daren't Google it!

Porn Star Martini is:

Vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, passion fruit puree shaken with ice and strained into a martini glass. Decorated with half a passion fruit. Served with a shot glass of prosecco on the side.
